We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the
Canada Council of the Arts for their kind
monetary gift to assist us to travel to Halifax this coming July for the Atlantic Jazz Festival.
Organizations like the CCA are really what make the world turn.
21/03/05===>Our saxy boy wonder, André, has decided
to bust a move for a little while and try his hand on the cruise ship scene. Thus, left temporarily
sax-less, the Azuris boys (never ones to be content during dry spells of sax deprivation) have
enlisted Mr. Jason Sharp to fulfill all of their sax needs for the next couple months.
Bon voyage, André
06/02/05===>Just want to welcome Adam Daudrich to the Azuris
team, albeit on a part-time basis. Mr. Daudrich will be joining us on the ivory (plastic) keys
sporadically for shows, and likely for our touring activity during the next few months. Help us
kick off this new milestone in Azuris-tory on Thursday March 10 @ Casa del Popolo in Montreal.
31/12/04===>In ancient Scottish mythology (I mean really
ancient!) the years were calculated with a small mechanical machine not unlike an abacus. Though
their number system differed greatly from our modern decimal system, the equivalent to the numbers
0, 2 and 5 were by far the most sacred, for obvious reasons. Thus, standing at the threshold of
the year 2005 is very exciting, as it is possibly the most sacred year, at least until 2025.
Thanks go out to everyone who helped us out in 2004. We hope to see you all again soon as we
attempt to exponentially increase our ubiquity in 2005. Happy New Year to all from Azuris central.
We wish you all well.
We also have une version française du site web in the works. Restez tuned.
22/11/04===>It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Jon Day,
piano wizard, computer genius, master of tom-foolery, and friend, has decided to debark from the
S.S. Azuris and pursue other endeavours. We understand the necessity of his decision, and vow to
forge on through whatever troublesome waters are thrown our way, but he will be dearly missed.
Thank you Jon, for your hard work, knowledge, amazing musicianship, and shenanigans, which were
all instrumental in building the Azuris empire thus far.
08/11/04===>Our album is finished, and it will be ready just
in time for our
GIGANTIC CD RELEASE PARTY THURSDAY NOVEMBER 18, 2004 AT CASA DEL POPOLO!
Come one, come all. We guarantee a great night of great music.
03/10/04===>Just got a last-minute show to announce.
We'll be opening for The Slip on October
16, 2004, at Petit Cafe Campus.
26/09/04===> We gotta say a huge
THANKS to everyone at the Harvest Jazz and Blues
Festival in Fredericton for giving us the incredible opportunity to
come back to New Brunswick (our second home!) and play a bunch of shows.
Thanks to everyone who made it out to see us, and thanks to everyone
who took our disc home. We love you. Also a great big thank you goes
out to Les Paiens for helping us throw a great party in Moncton, musically,
socially, politically, epidemiologically, and otherwise. Merci, c'était
un right bon temps!
02/09/04===> We're getting ready to hit New Brunswick yet
again, and we've got big plans to record a new full-length album. It
should be available early November, hopefully, and it's gonna be great.
I promise.
02/06/04===> We're proud to announce

22/05/04===> Just wanted to say a
mighty THANKS to everyone who helped make our second East Coast Tour a
success. We got back alive, but we forgot J.D. in Nova Scotia. He'll
find his way.
Thanks to all the clubs who housed our rukus music,
thanks to everyone who came out to the shows, and thanks to all you
great people who let us crash in your apartments when we couldn't afford
hotel rooms. Hope to see you all again very soon!
